Personal:

I herniated/ruptured a disk (L4/L5) in my back in December, 2005.  I told my orthopedic surgeon I wanted to start running.  He said "You'll never run again.".  What a challenge!  So...I started running.

Since then I've lost about 50 pounds, ran 13 marathons and a number of other races. 

I am still a clydesdale runner (over 200 lbs), have a large frame, big bones, and not built like a runner at all.  I'm not fast.  I mostly run to have some time to myself and keep in shape.

8 miles in Smithfield Canyon.  Felt good.  7:20/mile AP. 

The great thing about about this run is the hills.  The first mile you loose about 200 feet.  Then climb about 400 feet over the next three miles (partially up Smithfield Canyon) to mile four, then run back the same way (down 400 feet, then finish off with the 200 feet climb).

8 miles in North Logan.  7:19/mile AP.  Gradual gain of about 325 feet to mile 3, leveling off for another mile, then turn around and run back...  good run.
