I herniated/ruptured a disk (L4/L5) in my back in December, 2005. I told my orthopedic surgeon I wanted to start running. He said "You'll never run again.". What a challenge! So...I started running.
Since then I've lost about 50 pounds, ran 13 marathons and a number of other races.
I am still a clydesdale runner (over 200 lbs), have a large frame, big bones, and not built like a runner at all. I'm not fast. I mostly run to have some time to myself and keep in shape.

| 8.1 miles up and down Smithfield Canyon with Claire. Fun run, a little hot-around 81 degrees... Finally feel like I'm just starting to get back into shape. Hope to loose at least 30 pounds.

| Another 8 miles up/down Smithfield canyon in the morning. Good jog. Nice and cool compared to running at noon, around 60 degrees.

| 5 mile loop in North Logan in North Logan. Ran a mile up to the USU Stadium, did 6 sets of stadium stairs (walking down in between). Then finished running the loop. Good run. Hot! 90 degrees. I need to go back and enter my runs--haven't been entering them.
