Personal:

I herniated/ruptured a disk (L4/L5) in my back in December, 2005.  I told my orthopedic surgeon I wanted to start running.  He said "You'll never run again.".  What a challenge!  So...I started running.

Since then I've lost about 50 pounds, ran 13 marathons and a number of other races. 

I am still a clydesdale runner (over 200 lbs), have a large frame, big bones, and not built like a runner at all.  I'm not fast.  I mostly run to have some time to myself and keep in shape.

7 mile out and back in North Logan at noon.  First 1.15 miles with Byron (His 2nd day running).  Then went another 6ish.  7:38/mile AP.

6.64 miles at the Boulder FlatIrons XC Course.  Easy jog.  Ate a big breakfast.  We picked up Conner's packet and then went to check out the course.  Decided to do our run (it was about 10:30).  Jogged 5 times around the course.  Too much food in the morning. Saw a lot of pros jogging the course.  From Ryan Hall to others.

When we went back to the motel, stomach felt a little better.  Ran 3.5 more on the treadmill.  Felt good.  Great weather.

6 miles on a treadmill back at the motel (right after eating a big Mexican dinner). Didn't have any time to run today during/between watching the USATF races, etc. Fun day.
